Instructions / Feeding Guide

Instructions:

Step 1: Preparation

• Your device comes with batteries pre-installed. Simply remove any packaging and you're ready to go.

• Familiarize yourself with the device's components: contact plate, indicator lights, and power button.

Step 2: Power On

• Press the central "on" button once to turn the device on.

• All indicator lights will illuminate briefly on the first press.

• Check that the Battery indicator light remains illuminated; this will show that the device is functioning properly.

• The device will remain powered on for 30 seconds this is inducated by the illuminated battery light.

• When the battery light is no longer illuminated, the “on” button will need to be re-pressed to re-power the device.

Step 3: Identifying Faults

• Hold the fault finder in your hand with the contact plate facing towards you.

• Touch the contact plate to the wire or tape of the electric fence.

• Observe the indicator lights. The direction of the fault will be indicated by the corresponding light.

Note:
The directional arrow will continue to illuminate in the direction of the fault until you pass the fault. If the directional arrow stops illuminating or changes direction, this means you have passed the fault.

• If the left light illuminates, the fault is to the left of the contact point.

• If the right light illuminates, the fault is to the right of the contact point.

Step 4: Repair the Fault

• Once you've identified the general area of the fault, visually inspect the fence for broken wires, loose connections, or vegetation touching the wire.

• Repair the fault as necessary.

Replacing the Batteries:

• Remove the two screws on the back of the device, placing them in a safe place as these will need to be re-installed once the battery has been replaced.

• Open the Battery door and remove the old Battery. Check that the battery slots are clean and free from debris.

• Install the new battery, following the + / - indicators shown on the PCB.

• Replace the battery door.

• Re-Insert the screws that you previously removed.

• Tighten the screws until they sit flush with the battery door (be careful not to overtighten).

• Test the device by pressing the central "on" button once.

Important Notes:

• This device does not require grounding for operation.

• If the device measures that your fence is outputting 4,000 kV or above, it will deem the fence as healthy and will not indicate a directional fault.

• Always handle the fault finder with care to avoid damage to the contact plate or internal components.

• Keep the device away from water and moisture to prevent malfunction.

• Replace batteries as needed to maintain optimal performance.

Storage:
Store the fault finder in a dry, safe place away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
