The 12 Volt, 3.2 Joules* Hotline Buzzard Energiser is a high power electric fencer suitable for all uses including 3 reel systems, electric fence netting, and long distance electric fencing. The Buzzard electric fence energiser has a rigid 4 prong stand and can power up to 25 km of fencing. It is particularly recommended for use on long boundary fencing applications where where mains power is not available. This powerful fencer has two output levels (high and low). If animals are being fenced for the first time, the energiser should be set to 'high' for the first week to teach the animals to avoid the fence. The energiser can then be switched to 'low' after this initial period in order to conserve the battery life. If, however, the electric fence is being used to keep animals out, the energiser should always be switched to the 'high' output position. As the Hotline Buzzard energiser is designed to be used on long lengths of electric fencing, a powerful 12v external battery will be required. Leisure or marine batteries are recommended for use with this energiser because they are designed to be discharged and recharged (unlike car batteries which are designed to be constantly trickle charged). The LED will flash GREEN when the unit is working correctly, but will change to RED when the battery requires re-charging. A buzzer will also sound if the battery terminals are connected incorrectly. The Hotline Buzzard Energiser is made in the UK, and comes with a 5 year warranty. All the leads required to connect this energiser to your electric fence are included in the box.
• Requires an external 12v leisure or marine battery (not included).
• It is recommended that a separate ground (earthing) stake of 1 metre is used for an efficient system. For longer fences or poor soil conditions, add more stakes, spaced 2 metres apart and linked with wire.
*Joules
This is the level of energy the energiser produced (stored joules) and releases (output joules) onto te fence line. Most energisers have similar voltage levels but the higher the joule the further the voltage can be pushed along the fence. In addition to powering longer lengths of fence, higher joules also cope with more inefficiencies, such as vegetation on the line, without adversely affecting working voltage.
