Dengie Alfa-A Molasses Free combines chopped and pelleted alfalfa with a light soya oil coating and added herbs. Naturally low in sugar and starch, Dengie Alfa-A Molasses Free is suitable for horses and ponies in work, those in lower levels of work that struggle to maintain condition, and horses and ponies that require a low sugar and low starch feed such as those prone to laminitis or muscle problems. Dengie Alfa-A Molasses Free provides 11.5MJ/kg DE which is the equivalent to a medium energy coarse mix or cube, but without the sugar and starch. It also includes the herbs fenugreek and mint for enhanced palatability and naturally provides 2% starch and 4.5% sugar which is approximately half the level of sugar compared to average hay. Dengie Alfa-A Molasses Free is a straight feed and although alfalfa is abundant in natural nutrients, a source of broad-spectrum vitamins and minerals should be fed alongside to ensure a balanced diet. It can be fed dry, dampened with water, or fed alongside a soaked product such as Alfa-Beet, Speedi-Beet etc. *Approved by The Laminitis Trust.
