A split-plastic size 2 flat band leg ring measuring approx. Ø6.4mm (inner diameter). This size of leg ring is ideal for day old chicks, cockatiels, pigeons and Japanese quail. Leg rings are a useful aid to bird identification and the recording of breeding lines. Security is another very important aspect, as rung birds can be easily traced at all times.

Instructions / Feeding Guide

To apply a split-plastic leg ring to a chicken:

• Open the ring.
• Place the ring over the chicken's leg, between the knee and ankle.
• Twist the ring into place.
• Make sure the ring moves freely around the chicken's ankle.

You can also use pliers to close the ring:

• Place the ring in pliers with the opening facing the front of the pliers.
• Close the pliers until the ends of the ring meet.
• Turn the ring 90 degrees so the opening faces the side of the pliers.
• Close the pliers until the ring is round.

• You should make sure the ring isn't too tight, as it should be able to spin around the chicken's ankle.

• If you're putting the ring on a growing chick, you might need to replace it with a larger one later.
