Feeding Guidelines:

• Most hens will start to lay when they're about 20 - 21 weeks of age. Oyster shell should be given from around 18 weeks - just before they're due to start laying.

• Your entire flock doesn't need oyster shells. It should be offered from an additional feeder, so that your birds can regulate how much they need all by themselves

• This way, laying hens can eat the oyster shell that they need, while non-laying hens can leave that extra calcium source alone.

• Remember, you should only give oyster shell when your laying hen is older than 18 weeks.

*Important* Oyster Shell should never be a replacement for a high-quality complete layers feed which will contain the correct levels of calcium required for an average bird.
